Automotive Service Technician - Baton Rouge 

EVALUATION HIRE

$15-$20/hr based on experience and interview 

Monday-Friday 7 am - 5 pm and every 3rd Saturday (half-day)  

 

Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is hiring Service Technicians for a local car dealership in East Baton Rouge. Ideal candidates will be hard workers looking for a career in the automotive industry with a customer satisfaction-driven mindset.  

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES for Automotive Service Technicians: 

• Diagnose and repair automotive issues using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Inspect vehicles for safety and compliance with manufacturer standards.
• Collaborate with service advisors to provide customers with clear explanations of repairs and maintenance services.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and dealership service protocols.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians as needed.
• Other duties include taking out trash, cleaning, stocking and handling.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or equivalent; ASE certification preferred but not required.
• Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic is preferred but not required. TRAINING AVAILABLE.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Qualified candidates must have some of the common hand tools required for the job.
