Position Overview:

The Screed Operator will be responsible for controlling the screed on asphalt paving machines, ensuring that the surface is leveled, smoothed, and prepared to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in asphalt paving operations, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the screed on asphalt paving machines to ensure a smooth, level surface.
• Collaborate with the paving crew to ensure proper machine setup, operation, and maintenance.
• Monitor the paving process to ensure optimal thickness, slope, and quality of the asphalt.
• Troubleshoot and adjust screed controls as necessary to maintain a consistent finish.
• Perform daily maintenance checks and ensure the screed and related equipment are in proper working condition.
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite, following all safety regulations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Screed Operator or in a similar asphalt paving role.
• Strong understanding of asphalt paving equipment and operations.
• Ability to read plans and specifications to ensure proper grades and thicknesses.
• Excellent attention to detail and a focus on producing quality work.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
