About The Job:
On behalf of our client, who is committed to excellence in steel manufacturing, the Red Deer facility is seeking an experienced Millwright to contribute to our dynamic team.

Job Description and Responsibilities:
As a Millwright with our client based in Red Deer, Alberta you''ll be responsible for the repair, troubleshooting, and installation of machinery and equipment using a variety of tools and equipment. Your ability to interpret repair documents, manuals, blueprints, and schematic drawings will be essential. Additionally, you''ll track and maintain work/back up roll bearing maintenance and repair using our maintenance management system. Key responsibilities include:

• Troubleshooting and maintenance of plant equipment
• Keeping accurate and legible records
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area
• Performing all work in a safe manner by strictly following safety procedures

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• Journeyman Millwright/Industrial Mechanic/Heavy Duty Mechanic/Hydraulic Mechanic - IP Red Seal preferred
• Experience using various tools and equipment, including air impact and electric wrenches, pipe fitting tools, hoists, jackhammers, cutting torches, and welding equipment
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings
• Aptitude for setting up, tearing down, and rebuilding machinery and equipment
• Knowledge and ability to use computer programs
• Strong written, oral communication, and organizational skills
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Basic math skills, with exposure to geometry and trigonometry preferred

Required Qualificiations

• Successful completion of a drug and alcohol test and pre-employment physical (including audiometric testing, vision, and strength)
• Clear criminal background check
• Minimum high school diploma or GED
• Availability for day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays (12 shifts - 48 and 36 hours alternating weekly)
