Job Summary:

The Laboratory Technician will use special instruments and techniques to help analyze chemical properties of food to determine ingredients and formulas. They will compile and analyze test results that go into charts, presentations, and reports. The Lab Tech is responsible for preparing and maintaining quantities of chemicals needed to perform laboratory tests. 

Responsibilities:

·       Set up and calibrate instruments for sample analysis.

·       Accurately prepare samples for testing.

·       Responsible for the accurate chemical analysis of raw materials, ingredients, and finished products per Heartland procedures and GLPs.

·       Provide laboratory documentation for release of finished product on a timely basis.

·       Ensure results are accurately recorded, reviewed, and verified using Good Documentation Practices, GLPs and GMPs.

·       Assist in creation of training documents and SOPs.

·       Assist in method validation.

·       Analyze, review, and report results.

·       All other duties as assigned.

Position Type: Evaluation Hire

Pay: $25

Shift: Day shift Monday-Friday

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field

·       Experience with HPLC and column chromatography

Preferred Experience

• 1-3 years of related experience in a food analytical lab preferred
• Must be flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced, changing environment
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time
• Proficient command of English and strong communication skills required
• Must be a self-starter and able to cover off-shift hours and holidays, if needed
