Summary/Objective
Under general supervision, the New Accounts Clerk interviews persons desiring to open, transfer or cancel accounts. Explain account services available to customers and assist them in preparing applications. Answers customers’ questions and explains services. Ensures and verifies the completion of the paperwork, to include notary services, filing, scanning, faxing and mailings. All other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Functions:

1. Interview customers to obtain information needed to open, transfer or cancel accounts.
2. Compile information about accounts, enter account information into computers, and file related forms or other documents.
3. Inform customers of procedures for services needed.
4. Schedules appointments for department
5. Refer customers to appropriate personnel to meet their questions.
6. Process applications.
7. Follow up with members on any missing information.
8. Back up other departments as needed.
9. Perform miscellaneous duties such as filing, answering phones, maintaining supplies.

This is a full-time position. Day shift is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. with occasional overtime and shift change.

 

Required Education and Experience:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Driver License

 

Preferred Education and Experience:
1. Some knowledge of Titles and Deeds
2. 1+ years of customer service.
3. Prior experience working at a water utility corporation or public entity is a plus
4. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
