Transit Dispatcher

Located in ellettsville, IN

Salary: $16.00 / hr - $18.00 / hr

Job Summary:

• Scheduling passenger pickups and routes based on requests for transportation phoned in and those of established routes
• Assists with scheduling personnel, vehicles and routes making adjustments for breakdowns, weather, last minute changes in passenger plans etc.
• Daily responsibility for fare revenues
• Acting as a community information and referral source for transportation options
• Responsible for the collection and reporting of program data
• Facilitates communication between passengers, drivers, vehicle maintenance staff, Assistant Transit Manager, and Executive Director regarding vehicle safety, maintenance and repairs, routes and schedules, passenger complaints and service agency requests
• Performs typing, filing and other transit program support services
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant RT Manager

Location: Ellettsville, IN

Position Type: Evaluation Hire

Pay: $16.00/hr - $18.00/hr

Schedule: 

8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Qualifications:

• Clear and easily understood voice
• Ability to hear transmitted messages
• Computer savvy 
• Must work and interact effectively and professionally with others on the team
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Must comply with quality standards
• Excellent communication skills and professionalism
• Must have strong attention to detail 
• Ability to work independently, as well as in a collaborative environment
• Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations

Education requirements:

• CDL preferred not required
