Welder

Located in Comstock Park, MI

Salary: $21.00-$24.00/HR

Welder Job Summary:

Fabrication is the key element of this position, as the Welder builds a unit from the ground up using subcomponents from the previous step in the process given only the final drawing design from Engineering. There are no step-by-step instructions. The Welder figures out the order of fabrication for the pieces presented to him or her. A typical unit can be 5-10 feet tall and the same wide and long. It takes anywhere from 1 to 3 days to fabricate a unit.

 

Welder Requirements:

• Operate overhead cranes and Hi-Lo equipment
• Interface and communicate with other departments to accomplish tasks
• Capable of reading mechanical engineering prints
• MIG weld steel components and caulk completed units
• Use a variety of hand tools
• Maintain a clean work area
• Ability to apply all applicable safety requirements
• Must be available for overtime

 

Schedule: 1^st Shift, Monday-Thursday, 6:00AM-4:30PM

Pay: $21.00-$24.00/HR

 

Welder Qualifications:

• MIG welding experience is required
• A weld proficiency test will be given
• High school diploma or any combination equivalent to high school
