Salary: 13.00-13.50/hr

We are seeking a diligent and reliable Janitor of a large local church. The Janitor will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general upkeep of the church’s facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for our congregation and visitors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and Maintenance:
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including replenishing supplies.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in all areas, including the sanctuary, offices, classrooms, and common areas.
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly.
  • Wash windows and glass surfaces.
• Setup and Breakdown:
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of rooms for events, services, and meetings.
  • Arrange and move furniture as needed.
• General Upkeep:
  • Perform minor repairs and report maintenance issues to the Facilities Manager.
  • Ensure all entrances, exits, and pathways are clean and free of debris.
  • Monitor and report the need for pest control.
• Safety and Compliance:
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Use cleaning supplies and equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
• Other Duties:
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, helpful demeanor.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
