Driving
1. Transport raw materials from vendors to local company, and transport finished products from workplace to local clients.
2. Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading.
3. Secure cargo for transport, using ropes or chains, to ensure safe handling of heavy and/or tall loaded vehicles.
4. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
5. Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes.
6. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
7. Repalletize shipments and wrapping pallets.
8. Awareness for local weather to prepare freight for rain.
Administrative
9. Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
10. Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
Maintenance
11. Maintain company vehicles and perform pre and post vehicle inspections daily to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
12. Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fuel filtering, radiator fluid, or minor repairs.
13. Perform preventive maintenance such as tire rotation and checking tire air pressure and include a copy of a card that states it was completed.
