A CNC (computer numerically controlled) programmer's responsibilities include:

·         Translating design specifications precise instructions for CNC machines.

·         analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to calculate dimensions, tool selection, and machine speeds.

·         Creating programs that control the machining of parts. They use CAM software to create 3D models of tools and parts.

·         Selecting cutting tools for the specific machining operation and material.

·         Setting up machines to produce the component outlined in the program.

·         Verifying programs to eliminate errors and retest programs to check that problems have been solved.

·         Ensuring safety follows all company safety protocol.

·         Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems.

CNC programmers are a key part of the manufacturing process, bridging the gap between design concepts and tangible products
