Express Employment Garland has partnered with a company in Garland, TX to actively recruit a Material Handler to join their team.

 

Job Description:
Moving raw materials and finished goods with a sit down forklift.
Loading and unloading of trucks if needed, basic data entry, shipping skid construction, banding, and sealing of the products.
Inventory and other tasks as needed.

 

Responsibilities:

• Material Movement: Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport materials and products within the warehouse.

• Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels by conducting regular cycle counts, updating inventory databases, and reporting discrepancies.

• Receiving and Shipping: Ensure proper handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying product counts and conditions against purchase orders and packing slips.

• Storage Organization: Organize materials in designated areas to maximize warehouse space and ensure easy access for retrieval and shipping.

• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Quality Control: Inspect materials for quality and accuracy, and report any damaged or defective items to supervisors.

• Maintenance: Conduct regular checks and maintenance on forklifts and material handling equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition.

• Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse staff and other departments to facilitate efficient operations and meet production deadlines

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role, with a strong preference for previous forklift experience.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday/ 6 AM to 6 PM 

Location: Terrell, TX
