Express Employment Professionals is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Agent for a company in Everett, WA. This role involves managing the procurement of materials and supplies essential for company operations, evaluating and negotiating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and purchasing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This is a day shift position offering $30 per hour. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Purchase all materials and supplies needed for company operations.
• Evaluate and qualify vendors to determine the most desirable suppliers.
• Establish primary and secondary suppliers for materials and services when possible.
• Evaluate quotes and negotiate prices for materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensure that purchased items comply with established quality and internal control policies.
• Provide company-supplied materials to vendors and track purchases of contracted sub-assembly processes.
• Record transfer activities from stores to jobs for tracked items.
• Manage returns for defective or nonconforming stock.
• Track and maintain records for customer-supplied materials.
• Perform any other related or unrelated, unassigned, unspecified, unusual, or special duties as assigned by the President or Operations Manager.

Experience:

• High School diploma (College preferred).
• Technical background or demonstrated technical grasp of electrical and control panel principles is a plus.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word programs.
• Three (3) years’ experience in manufacturing.
• Three (3) years’ experience in a purchasing position.

Qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal use of the English language.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
• Ability to work closely with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to work independently and with little direction.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Must have full use of senses and limbs.
• Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds with regularity.
