Janitor/Groundsman

Role and Responsibilities

The janitorial performs custodial work in all production areas as well as outside the building.

 

• Maintaining a safe work environment on the production floor by eliminating slip, trip, and fall hazards.

• Cleaning floors by brooms, mops
• Responding to all spills and leaks immediately.
• Heavy scrubbing of floors in common areas on a periodic basis.
• Picking up trash and debris on walkways, bushes, outdoor break area, and building entrance.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Only go in cold room or new warehouse is you have been assigned a specific task
• Weedeating/mowing

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
• Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
• Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates.
• Required for the daily functions of moving the body as described above.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds required.

Timeliness of Duties

• Mornings – Pick up trash outside around parameters of the building; weed eat if needed (should be done on Monday or Friday)
• Check/Fill hairnet station. Clean hand wash station. Clean and mop kitchen bathroom and breakroom. Mop entrance (daily)
• Use Scrubbing machine once a week on floors throughout production area - Thursday
• Assist wrapping room with any duties once outside duties are complete.
• Take out trash 2 times in the morning and 3 times in the afternoon
