SolidWorks Mechanical Designer-Detailer (Direct Hire)

Job Summary:

The SolidWorks Mechanical Designer-Detailer collaborates with customers and peers to transform conceptual ideas and designs into fully detailed shop drawings.

Ideal Candidate:

A successful candidate will have experience designing custom conveyors, platforms, catwalks, machines, safety guarding, and other items for various industries, focusing on sanitary solutions for the food processing industry. They should possess knowledge of plasma/laser processing, CNC milling, turning, sheet metal forming, and welding. Proficiency in preparing CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks and generating CAD files for laser and plasma processing is essential. The candidate must also be capable of reverse engineering third-party conveyors and other equipment to replicate or modify as needed. Quick learning and efficiency are crucial attributes.

Responsibilities:

• Transfer information from project notes and contract documents/governing codes into a shop drawing format.
• Implement and follow through with changes to shop drawings.

Must Haves:

• Proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D sketches, weldments, multi-body parts, and assemblies.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications.
• Knowledge of OSHA codes and standard steel shapes and sizes.
• Dependability, attention to detail, punctuality, and the ability to follow instructions.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Ability to pass a drug/alcohol screen.
