Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a Detailer/Designer with strong technical and design skills to join their team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has a keen eye for detail, and possesses a solid understanding of AutoCAD and mechanical or engineering principles. You will be responsible for creating detailed design drawings and necessary tool path files for our projects. A construction background is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Drafting:

  • Use AutoCAD to create detailed 2D and 3D design drawings.
  • Interpret and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Generate tool path files as necessary for manufacturing and project execution.

• Technical Understanding:

  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet technical requirements.
  • Apply mechanical and engineering knowledge to improve design accuracy and functionality.
  • Identify and resolve any potential issues or inconsistencies in design documents.

• Software Use:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is required, with knowledge of CorelDRAW as a plus.
  • Demonstrate competency in other relevant software and computer skills for design and documentation purposes.

• Collaboration & Problem-Solving:

  • Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are feasible and practical.
  • Adjust designs based on feedback or new project requirements.
  • Ensure that all technical documentation is up to date and properly organized.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, or a related technical field.
  • Documented technical training or a technical degree is required.

• Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience using AutoCAD (2004 or newer).
  • Experience with mechanical or engineering design.
  • Construction background is a plus, but not required.

• Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent understanding of technical drawings and engineering principles.
  • Good overall computer skills and experience with design software.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
