Job Summary:

Metal Fabrication and Manufacturing company is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide variety of industrial equipment and systems. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and Diagnose: Conduct routine inspections of mechanical systems and equipment, diagnosing malfunctions using diagnostic tools and methods.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Perform repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance on equipment including conveyors, motors, pumps, and hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Quickly identify mechanical and technical issues in machinery, using blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to determine solutions.
  • Routine Maintenance: Implement regular maintenance schedules to ensure optimal operation of machinery, reducing downtime and extending equipment lifespan.
  • System Upgrades: Assist in the installation and upgrading of new or existing machinery and equipment.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and part replacements, ensuring compliance with company standards and safety protocols.
  • Compliance with Safety Standards: Follow OSHA and company safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures, to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics, electricians, and production staff to coordinate repairs and minimize disruption to operations.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to equipment failures and emergency breakdowns, ensuring prompt repairs to minimize production delays.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
  • Diagnostic Tools: Proficient in the use of diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Reading Blueprints: Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems efficiently.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces or at heights.

Education & Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED: Required.
  • Technical Certifications: Certification in Industrial Maintenance, HVAC, or Electrical Maintenance is a plus.
  • Forklift Operation Certification: Preferred but not required
