Job Summary:

The Insurance Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s insurance operations, including policy management, risk assessment, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves managing a team of insurance professionals, developing strategies to optimize insurance processes, and ensuring that all insurance activities align with the organization’s goals and objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and management of insurance policies and procedures. Ensure policies are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards and regulations.

  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate and analyze the company’s insurance needs and risks. Develop strategies to mitigate risk and ensure adequate coverage for all areas of the business.

  • Compliance: Ensure that all insurance activities comply with relevant laws and regulations. Stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain compliance.

  • Claims Management: Oversee the claims process, including the handling and resolution of claims. Work with insurance providers to negotiate settlements and manage claim disputes.

  • Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with insurance providers, brokers, and other stakeholders. Negotiate terms and conditions to secure favorable insurance coverage and rates.

  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on insurance activities, including policy performance, risk assessments, and financial impact. Provide recommendations for improvements based on data analysis.

  • Customer Service: Address and resolve any insurance-related issues or concerns raised by clients or internal departments. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)) is a plus.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical insurance or a related role. Proven track record of managing insurance operations and teams.

  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in insurance management software and tools.

  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of insurance policies, risk management practices, and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with industry trends and best practices.

  • Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)) are highly desirable.


Work Environment:

  • Office Setting: Standard office environment with occasional travel required for meetings, inspections, or training sessions.

  • Hours: Full-time with potential for occasional overtime based on project needs or urgent issues.
