Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Train Bin Latching Technician to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring that cargo bins are securely latched and unlatched on trains, helping to maintain the safety and efficiency of our operations. As part of the job, you will work on your feet for the duration of your shift, performing tasks that require physical activity such as walking, bending, reaching, and possibly using a ladder. You will be provided with all necessary safety gear, including a hardhat and safety boots. No heavy lifting is required, as we have equipment on site to handle the placement of the bins.

Responsibilities

• Safely latch and unlatch cargo bins on the train.
• Perform tasks such as reaching, bending, and walking for extended periods.
• Ensure all bins are securely latched before departure to meet safety standards.
• Use ladders when needed to reach certain bins or parts of the train.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, including wearing the required safety gear (hardhat, safety boots).
• Communicate with other team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and timely operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand and walk for the full duration of the shift.
• Comfortable with physical tasks such as reaching, bending, and climbing ladders.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
• Basic communication skills to work effectively with team members.
• Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including a hardhat and safety boots.
• Previous experience in a similar role is a plus but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
