Job Title: Pharmacy Cashier

Location: Decatur

Position Type: Full time preferred. Part time available.

Job Summary:

As a Pharmacy Cashier, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient transactions at our pharmacy. Your primary responsibilities will include handling customer payments, processing transactions, and providing excellent customer service. You will work closely with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to support daily operations and contribute to a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and assist with their inquiries. Provide information about products and services in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Transaction Processing: Accurately process customer payments using cash registers or point-of-sale systems. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions efficiently and securely.

  • Prescription Handling: Assist customers with prescription drop-offs and pickups. Ensure that prescription orders are processed correctly and promptly.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of over-the-counter medications and other products. Alert the pharmacy team about low stock or inventory issues.

  • Data Entry: Input transaction details into the pharmacy’s system and maintain accurate records of sales and customer interactions.

  • Compliance: Adhere to all pharmacy policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality, safety, and health regulations.

  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized checkout area. Ensure that the pharmacy environment is welcoming and professional.

  • Customer Feedback: Address and resolve any customer complaints or concerns in a timely and effective manner. Escalate issues to the pharmacy manager if necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience: Previous experience in a retail or cashier role is preferred, but not required.

  • Skills: Strong customer service skills, basic math skills, and proficiency with cash registers and point-of-sale systems. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to handle transactions accurately and manage cash effectively.

  • Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
  • Good manual dexterity for handling cash and operating equipment.
