Fabrication Manufacturing Business Development 

Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a Business Development Account Manager to fill a Direct Hire opening in Lexington, KY!

Key Responsibilities

Business Development:

  • Engage with current and potential customers within the Ohio Valley and South Central Regions to understand and document RFQ content, formulating comprehensive Statements of Work (SOW) that align with our manufacturing capabilities in metal fabrication, welding, and machining.
  • Develop strategies to identify and secure new business opportunities that fit our manufacturing capabilities.
  • Conduct on-site visits to customer facilities to gather information, perform field measurements, and represent the company as needed.
  • Assist customers in developing project specifications, recommending processing strategies, and material selections.

Project Management:

  • Analyze customer RFQ prints to establish Bills of Materials (BOMs) and required processes, including both in-house and outsourced services, to confirm the SOW for each project.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager (GM) and Operations Team to provide technical information needed to generate accurate quotes for potential jobs.
  • Interpret BOMs to determine job material requirements and create or verify BOMs for ongoing projects.
  • Secure material and outsourced processing quotes, including lead times, as needed.
  • Utilize Excel costing models to determine processing, material, and transportation costs based on project SOWs.
  • Generate and submit customer project quotes using our E2 System, and perform follow-ups as needed.
  • Upon receipt of customer purchase orders, verify and set up prints, job estimates, and orders in the E2 System.

Customer Relations:

  • Communicate and collaborate with Design and Operations teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Address and communicate the impact of any engineering changes, including cost and schedule adjustments.
  • Serve as a liaison for non-conformances, ensuring they are documented, communicated, and resolved promptly.
  • Keep customers informed of any developments that may impact project schedules, material availability, or costs.
  • Occasionally deliver products to customers or pick up supplies as needed.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Previous experience in Fabrication Manufacturing Industry is required
  • Previous experience in Account Management / Customer Service is required
  • Previous experience with Contract Manufacturing is a plus
  • Credible knowledge in fabrication, welding, and machining.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with strong skills in Excel.
  • Experience with 3D software, especially Auto-Desk Inventor, is a plus.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent scheduling, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret standard and metric prints, as well as weld symbols.
  • Competence in using measuring equipment and tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Physical ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and work in a moderate noise environment.

Compensation

$100,000 + Profit Sharing
