Fabrication Shop Grinder Operator – Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Full Time – Evaluation Hire

$15-$20/hr Based on experience

Monday – Friday, 7:30 am-4 pm

 

Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing and recruiting firm, is currently hiring a Skilled Laborer that can grind and polish metal, paint, assist assemblers using pneumatic and power tools, and deliver products, for an Industrial Equipment Service Shop in East Baton Rouge Parish.  The company is looking for long-term employees with opportunities for advancement. This position is in Baton Rouge and work everyday will be onsite, must live in Baton Rouge area.  The skills and experience specified below are required for this position.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES for Skilled Laborer/Grinder Operator:  

• Sandblasting and spray painting metal components to prepare them for assembly. 
• Use flap wheel grinders to remove burrs and polish metal components for assembly.
• Forklift Operation
• Use pneumatic tools and common hand and power tools. 
• Good attendance, attention to detail, and a can do positive attitude. 
• Weed eating and keeping up with the grounds as needed 
• Emptying shop trash cans, and metal shaving bins. 
• Delivering products to sites using company vehicles, VALID DRIVERS LICENSE REQUIRED
• Assisting technicians

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Experience working in an industrial environment. 
• Experience working in valve repair, steel fabrication shops, and sheet metal shops is ideal. 
• MUST have a valid Driver's License. 
• MUST have a clean MVR. 
• MUST be a dependable team player who works well with a group.
