2nd Shift Quality Inspector Sheet Metal Fabrication | $21.34 per hour | Dekalb

 

Shift: 10:00 AM to 6:30p training on first shift 6:00a to 4:30p for 60-90 days

A local Dekalb company is searching for a Quality Inspector. This dynamic manufacturing environment is growing and is looking to hire a collaborative worker who will help grow the company to a new level of production. Quality Inspectors work independently and as part of a team, at times with limited supervision.

The Quality Inspector for Sheet Metal Fabrication is responsible for ensuring that fabricated sheet metal products meet required specifications and standards. This role involves inspecting materials, monitoring processes, and verifying the final output to ensure high-quality standards are consistently met throughout production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect and test sheet metal components and assemblies
• Utilize various measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Perform tests to check for defects such as warping, cracks, or improper welds.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation of findings.
• Prepare detailed reports on quality issues, corrective actions, and trends.
• Document deviations from quality standards and work with production teams to address these issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Solid shop math skills.
• Proficiency in using measurement tools and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of quality control standards and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Ability to use computers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires walking, standing, climbing, crawling, bending

• Requires regular lifting greater than 20 lbs., occasionally greater than 50 lbs.
