Express Employment Professionals in Allen TX is seeking a CAD Mechanical Designer 3D for a Engineering Company in Collin County. This is a Direct Hire Role.

 

Location in office. This is NOT A WORK FROM HOME/REMOTE/HYBRID ROLE.

 

 

Position Summary

 

Responsible for producing mechanical drawings of component parts as well as assemblies on customer design specifications. This position is expected to uphold the mission, vision and values established by the organization.

 

Essential Functions

 

• Responsible for preparing accurate and timely detailed mechanical component drawings.
• Works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Sales to ensure proper understanding of customer needs and adherence to design specifications.
• Prepares various types of drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor from customer submitted blueprints, mechanical prints, sketches, drawings, electronic files, concepts, bills of material (BOM), purchase orders (PO), specifications and any other related documents.
• Complete detail and assembly design, packaging, and layout.
• Assists in the design of component parts and assemblies.
• Responsible for revisions to drawings by studying change requests and documents changes in accordance with Engineering change management procedures.
• Provides technical support to customers.
• Designing with concerns or manufacturing processes including metal fabrication, machining, assembly, and prototyping
• Adheres to all company health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

Minimum Qualifications

 

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with a minimum of two years on the job experience.
• With no technical training five years minimum on the job experience
• Knowledge of fabrication principles and processes including substantial metal fabrication and weldments
• Expert proficiency in Auto CAD (2D) and Autodesk Inventor (3D), Vault Professional and Vault Collaboration
• Ability to create a full Bill of Material (BOM) using traditional waterfall technique to include sub-assemblies.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing methods, especially a custom, built to order environment.
• Meticulous attention to detail and organization
• Experience working with Micro Soft Office suite of products
• Adaptive, creative, and logical thinking
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to read, write and speak in the English language

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

• Knowledge and understanding of drawing formats and preparations using ASME pressure vessel standards
• Experience working with machining tolerances

 

Supervisory Responsibility

 

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

 

Work Conditions/Environment

 

Work will be performed in both an internal office environment working under normal office conditions as well as exposure to the manufacturing environment subject to varying temperatures and conditions.
