Job Summary: The Accounting Manager will oversee and manage the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This role involves supervising accounting staff, managing financial processes, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management:

    • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
    • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP or relevant accounting standards.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
    • Assign and review work to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Analyze financial performance against budget and provide recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements.
  • Compliance and Audit:

    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare for and coordinate external audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
    • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Financial Analysis:

    • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and identify areas for financial improvement.
    • Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
    • Monitor financial performance metrics and provide insights and recommendations.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
    • Implement best practices and technology solutions to improve accuracy and reduce manual efforts.
  • Additional Duties:

    • Coordinate with other departments to support financial and operational goals.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, accounting regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.
  • Additional Requirements:

    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
    • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
