About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer / Entry Level Estimator to join a growing team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth execution of our roofing projects, from reviewing plans and estimating change orders to coordinating with Clients and Salespeople.

Responsibilities:

• Review project plans and specifications, identifying any potential issues or discrepancies.
• Perform takeoffs and generate accurate estimates for material and labor costs associated with plan changes.
• Training provided to utilize our on-screen takeoff software to efficiently calculate material quantities and costs.
• Communicate effectively with clients to answer questions related to project scope and pricing.
• Communicate with Superintendents about current job scope and documents.
• Assist with the preparation of proposals.
• Coordinate with internal teams (sales, operations, installation) to ensure seamless project execution.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and documenting opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy in project planning and estimation.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a construction-related field.
• Basic understanding of construction plans and specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with roofing projects.
• Experience using on-screen takeoff software.
• Familiarity with construction codes and regulations.
