We are doing some exciting things with a Manufacturer in Carmel seeking a Manufacturing Order Administrator. Our client is a leading hard goods manufacturer that outsources contract manufacturing to suppliers in India and Southeast Asia, and in this position, you will be a key member of the operations team. You will collaborate closely with sales, manufacturing, and engineering. 

 

This opportunity is a direct hire placement paying $50,000 - $60,000, plus company performance incentives.

 

In addition, you will have full benefits (medical, dental, vision), 401(k), and 15 days PTO.

As the Manufacturing Order Administrator your duties and responsibilities will include sales order administration, purchase order management, inventory and production control, and customer service:

 

Sales Orders:

  • Receive and review customer purchase orders – resolve order accuracy and completeness issues with customer
  • For new products, develop new product and part numbers, create bills of materials in preparation for order entry
  • Review order pricing, and compare to quotes for consistency; determine lead times
  • Enter sales orders and send order acknowledgments, monitor for receipt of customer approvals
  • Complete associated tasks (SO custom data, marking projects as won, checking commission rates, etc.)
  • Generate packing lists, and commercial invoices (if needed) for orders ready to ship
  • Close work orders and manufacturing orders when complete.
  • Close sales orders.
  • Work with operations to ship materials, notify customers of shipment and send tracking information

Purchasing:

  • Determine material needs for project orders and stock (working with manufacturing and sales)
  • Work with estimating and manufacturing to select suppliers for projects, quotes
  • Make decisions on purchasing quantities, inventory levels, quality, etc.
  • Prepare and release purchase orders to the supply chain
  • Communicate regularly with our suppliers to maintain status regarding purchase orders
  • Receive and process receiving reports when shipments arrive; reconcile receipts
  • Verify supplier invoices and prepare payment requests to pay suppliers

Customer Service:

  • Field customer service calls and emails daily
  • Provide requested information to customers and resolve customer issues, order changes
  • Process RMAs (create, process, close).

Qualifications and Essential Knowledge for the Manufacturing Order Administrator:

  • Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent in a related field; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing production planning and scheduling, including developing and managing Bills of Material (BOM) and inventory.
  • Business: Order processing, purchasing, inventory management, BOM, customer service.
  • General: Excellent written communication skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
  • Traits: Quality and attention to detail, organizational skills, planning abilities, analytical thinking, decision making.
