We are seeking Tax Preparer for our client, a professional tax and accounting firm in Littleton. This role is responsible for accurately preparing and filing tax returns on time, specializing in complex cases, while offering support and resolving tax-related issues. 

 

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file complex individual and business tax returns accurately and on time.
• Maintain client bookkeeping records, including entering transactions and preparing adjusting journal entries.
• Ensure compliance by processing annual Form 1099s for clients.
• Represent clients in tax-related matters with IRS and state agencies, including issue resolution and correspondence.
• Uphold strict confidentiality of client tax information and documents.
• Provide compliant tax advice and guidance in line with IRS regulations.
• Educate clients on tax laws and their business implications.
• Stay current with tax laws through annual continuing education courses to maintain licensure.
• Build and maintain strong relationships, providing year-round support and guidance.
• Respond promptly to client inquiries and schedule appointments for tax discussions.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of relevant experience in accounting/tax preparation for individuals, businesses, partnerships and trusts
• Must possess a current Enrolled Agent (EA) license and be in good standing with the IRS, with a proven ability to handle complex tax matters and represent clients in all IRS proceedings
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Lacerte, QB Desktop and Online preferable.

This is a position full time during the tax season and part time (preferable) throughout the year for extensions, etc. The pay rate is $35-$38/hr but negotiable depending on experience.
