Job Title: PLC Controller - AC/DC Program Manager

Location: Rochelle, IL 

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled PLC Controller with experience in AC/DC program management. The ideal candidate will have the ability to program from scratch, manage the startup, installation, and acceptance of new equipment, and design switch systems. A strong understanding of networking and effective communication with IT is essential for this role. This position is factory-based and involves working with four mills to ensure production efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming and Development: Develop and program PLCs from scratch for new equipment and processes.
  • Startup and Installation: Manage the startup, installation, and acceptance testing of new equipment to ensure smooth integration into existing systems.
  • Switch Design: Design and implement switching systems for equipment and network integration.
  • Networking and IT Communication: Collaborate with IT teams to ensure proper network integration and communication between equipment and control systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with existing and new equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous production.
  • System Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on PLCs, SCADA, and HMI systems to ensure optimal performance.

Equipment and Systems:

  • PLC Controllers: SCADA, PLC, HMI, with a focus on Allen Bradley systems.
  • Factory Equipment: Work with a range of equipment, particularly in a factory setting with four mills.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Electrical Degree or Engineering Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and system integration.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with SCADA, HMI, and Allen Bradley PLCs.
    • Strong understanding of AC/DC program management and switch design.
    • Ability to work with IT for network and communication setups.

Certifications:

  • Relevant industry certifications are a plus but not mandatory.

Typical Workday:

  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Address issues with equipment to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Installation and Acceptance: Oversee the acceptance testing of new equipment, ensuring it meets all required standards and specifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including IT and production teams, to ensure seamless operation.
