Electric Field Service Millwright – Saint Francisville, LA

Evaluation Hire

$20+/hr Based on Experience 

Mon-Fri 7 AM – 3:30 PM, weekends and overtime may be required.

 

Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is currently hiring an Electric Field Service Millwright for a local Family-owned and operated Electric Motor shop in Saint Francisville. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in rewinding, repairing, assembling, and maintaining various AC/DC motors and other rotating equipment. This position requires a keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in industrial environments.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for rewinding various kinds of AC/DC Motors. Including the removal of old winding in the field.
• Test and find the winding failure root cause.
• Disassembly, inspecting, and reassembly of electric motors.
• Perform voltage testing on standard/basic windings.
• Problem-solving skills to perform quality repairs, and prepare stators and/or armatures for AC/DC electric motors.
• Review diagrams and schematics to meet custom winding specifications for customers.
• Rewind low, medium, and high voltage equipment using random and form coils.
• Ability to operate machinery.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and safely use overhead cranes as well as lift rigging.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including winding data and motor specifications.
• Going out to various industrial environments to perform repairs in the field.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to pass a DISA hair follicle.
• Valid Drivers License.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, in the field or in the shop when needed. 
• Customer Service mindset and attitude are required. 
• Experience working with TDMA, RF power, frequency error, modulation accuracy, and adjacent/alternate channel power measurements.
• Any years of AC and/or DC motor winding experience.
• Knowledge of motor winding materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with insulation systems and techniques.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
• Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in various positions.
