We are partnering with Oregon’s premiere Hospice & Home Health organization, Partners in Care https://www.partnersbend.org/, in the search for their next Chief Financial Officer! 

 

What You Get to Do!

As a key executive team member, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides strategic financial management and advice to the CEO and leadership team. The CFO collaborates the CEO to develop strategic plans and financial goals that shape the organization’s future direction. In partnership with the CEO, the CFO develops financial plans that support the organizations strategic and operational plan. As the organization’s primary financial steward, the CFO ensures accurate financial modeling and tracking of services, facilitating informed decision-making to support the organization's growth and mission.

·       Responsible for the creation of the Annual Budget at the agreed upon deadline.

·       Works with Chief Executive Officer and Departmental Supervisors to monitor both organization and departmental budgets.

·       Directs procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper record to afford adequate accounting control and services.

·       Assists Chief Executive Officer and organization to determine organization fund-raising needs.

·       Assures that financial policies and procedures are in full compliance with applicable regulations, laws and acceptable accounting practices.

·       Informs Chief Executive Officer of any event that my affect the organization positively or negatively.

·       Safeguards all Contract Agreements.

·       Participates in the negotiations and writing of Contract Agreements.

·       Assures Medicare Cost Report is accurately completed by deadline.

·       Prepares and directs completion of Yearly Financial Audit.

·       Oversees the accuracy and completion of all necessary taxes, licensures and Medicare Credit reports.

·       Serves as a resource to Departmental Supervisors to provide information and assistance in areas that will assist with the success of financial goals.

·       Creates, coordinates, and evaluates the financial programs and supporting information systems of the organization to include budgeting, capital campaign, real estate, and conservation of assets.

·       Approves and coordinates change and improvements in automated financial and management information systems for the organization.

·       Oversees the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, and position control documents, department budgets, ledger, and account maintenance and data entry

·       Completes preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports consistent with needed timeliness.

·       Presents monthly financial reports and serves as a resource to Board of Directors.

·       Develops and implements finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.

·       Establishes and maintains appropriate internal control safeguards.

·       Interacts with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.

·       Ensures records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.

·       Analyzes cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. Analyzes financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas.

·       Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates accounting department staff.

·       Establishes and implements short- and long-range Accounting departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.

·       Communicates organization policies, procedures and changes effectively to accounting department in a timely manner.

·       Works effectively as a member of the management team.

·       Perform other duties as requested by Chief Executive Officer.

·       Attends and participates in departmental, in-services and staff meetings.

·       Understands and adheres to the organization mission, core values, policies and procedures and advocates its philosophy.

·       Consistently represents the organization to all internal and external customers with integrity and professionalism.

·       Demonstrates a positive attitude and working relations with staff members and others.

·       Maintains strict confidentiality of patient/family/caregiver information.

·       Adheres to all policies, procedures and regulations regarding HIPAA, conduct, safety, fire, security and risk management.

 

What You Will Bring…

·       Bachelor’s in finance or related field, MBA preferred.

·       Extensive experience in accounting, business administration, or finance; previous experience in non-profit or healthcare settings preferred.

·       Strong organizational abilities.

·       Experience in strategic planning and execution; knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.

·       In-depth knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; familiarity with automated financial and accounting reporting systems.

·       Understanding of federal and state financial regulations; ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports, statements, and projections.

·       Proven ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.

·       Demonstrates good communications skills.

·       Ability to pass a background test, drug screen and TB test. 

·       Current automobile insurance, valid Oregon driver’s license, and reliable transportation required for those working in the field.

·       Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals.
