Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Soldering Technician to join our client's team in Anoka. The ideal candidate will have hands-on soldering experience and the ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as customer blueprints and standard operating procedures, to assemble and modify circuit boards. This role requires precision, consistency, and the ability to perform repetitive tasks with minimal errors. The facility operates under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), so candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand technical documents, including customer blueprints, standard operating procedures, and job-specific instructions.
  • Assemble circuit boards by adding components, wires, epoxy, and hardware using tools such as tweezers, pliers, cutters, soldering irons, magnifying lights, and microscopes.
  • Hand wash areas of the circuit board where sensitive components have been hand soldered to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
  • Apply modifications to circuit boards as specified in the documentation, ensuring that the board is built to the correct revision.
  • Install circuit boards into final assemblies as required by the job documentation.
  • Maintain accurate daily work records by scanning in and out of jobs via computer systems or completing daily timesheets as requested.
  • Perform additional record-keeping tasks as required by the department.
  • Work independently, maintaining a high level of quality and focus throughout the workday.
  • Consistently perform repetitive assembly tasks with a focus on accuracy and minimal errors.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in soldering is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
  • Proficiency with soldering tools and equipment, including soldering irons, tweezers, pliers, and microscopes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain concentration over extended periods.
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to quality standards.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Experience with record-keeping and time-tracking systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; technical training or certification in electronics or soldering is preferred.

Work Environment:

  • The role is primarily performed in a manufacturing or electronics assembly environment.
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting or standing, with frequent use of fine motor skills.
  • Exposure to soldering fumes, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses.
