Job Overview:
Express Employment Professionals is seeking dedicated and skilled System Installers / Low Voltage Cable Techs to join our Vero Beach team! This critical role involves installing, relocating, and disconnecting digital and analog public safety and commercial two-way communications equipment. The position requires extensive overnight travel, with 90% of your work week spent out of town, Monday through Friday.
As a System Installer, you will be directly responsible for building and maintaining the communication systems that are vital to our communities'' public safety, education, public works, and business organizations. This is an onsite role where you''ll work closely with customers, project managers, and project engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, relocate, and disconnect digital & analog communication equipment.
- Work onsite at customer locations, ensuring systems are properly built and maintained.
- Install complex racks of electronic equipment, backup power systems, and a variety of cables (coaxial, DC power, Ethernet, fiber optic, grounding).
- Program digital radio equipment and install vehicular equipment.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service, both in-person and through clear written and verbal communication.
Required Experience:
- Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
- At least one year of experience in low voltage/structured cabling installation.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and plans.
- OSHA10 or OSHA30 certification.
- Experience leading a crew and managing others.
- Experience with coaxial cable installation and termination.
- Understanding of AC & DC power systems.
- Experience using tools such as a voltmeter, ammeter, and clamp-on ground resistance meter.
- Previous low voltage cable installation
Job Requirements:
- Clean criminal background and driving record.
- Willingness to travel overnight (up to 90%), including out-of-market/out-of-state trips that may last up to two weeks.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Physically fit to stoop, crawl, bend, squat, lift and move up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and repeatedly climb and descend stairs and ladders.
- Ability to complete written checklists and documentation.
