Job Description: Diesel Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in maintaining and repairing diesel engines, with a focus on various heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play an essential role working full-time keeping diesel-powered equipment in good working condition, ensuring safety and efficiency on the road or in various field work settings
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction: Consult with customers and review work orders to assess repair needs. – THEY TRY TO KEEP THE CUSTOMERS ONLY SPEAKING TO THE SERVICE WRITERS IF POSSIBLE
Diagnostic Testing: Run diagnostic tests on diesel engines to identify issues and propose suitable solutions.
Inspections: Inspect various vehicle systems.
Repairs and Replacements: Perform repairs or replacements on components.
Test Driving: Test drive repaired vehicles to ensure proper functioning.
Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks.
Shop Organization: Keep the repair shop clean and organized.
Required Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of diesel engine components, electrical systems, and vehicle mechanics.
Tool Proficiency: Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools. NOTE: Secure tool storage will be provided, however, you must bring your own tools as tools are not provided. SPECIALITY TOOLS ARE PROVIDED.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and address complex issues.
Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to ensure precise repairs.
Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in diesel engine diagnostic software.
Driver''s License: A valid driver''s license to conduct test drives and field visits.
Communication: Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with colleagues and customers.
Education and Training Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
Certification and training in diesel engine repair from a vocational school or community college.
Training modules cover various aspects of diesel engine repair.
Position Type: Full Time Temp To Perm
Pay: $35.00/hr
Schedule: 1st Shift some over time may be required
