Salary: $17.00/hour

Our client in Cedar Rapids is looking for a Punch Press Operator!!

General Duties:

• Set up and operate punch press machines according to specifications, blueprints, and work orders.
• Adjust machine settings and tooling to achieve desired production outcomes.
• Monitor machine operation to ensure accuracy and efficiency; make adjustments as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance on punch press machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
• Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe work environment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to accurately set up and operate equipment.
• Maintain accurate production records, including quantities produced, defects, and downtime.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members to report any issues, discrepancies, or equipment malfunctions.
• Participate in training and development activities to improve skills and knowledge related to punch press operations and safety.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated solid work history.
• Preferred experience in fabrication or press room operations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Good judgment in safety, quality, cost, and delivery related to parts, processes, and products.
• Fork truck operation experience and/or certification is a plus; willingness to learn and be trained is required.
• Ability to read and use blueprints, gauges, basic hand tools, calculators, standard work instructions, process instructions, material safety data sheets, production schedules, preventative maintenance documents, and equipment control panels, or willingness to be trained in these areas as needed.

Hours:

• 6am – 4:30pm
• Monday – Thursday

• $17/hour
