Our client in Cedar Rapids is looking for a Quality Control Associate!

Quality Control Associate – is responsible for the first phase of processing products for sale in our warehouse. Associates in this position will unpack cases of product and sort items by style/type as well as reviewing product quality and making decisions on disposition of product. Associates will use a hand scanner and portable label printer to receive the item into inventory or route for further processing. Quality Control associates must work safely and efficiently and should be flexible to handle changes in direction and product types. This position requires frequent bending, lifting, reaching, standing, and fine motor skills.

General Duties:

  • Open boxes of product and remove the product safely.
  • Inspect each product individually. Use fingers to feel for flaws/damages and sight to look for flaws/damages.
  • Sort product based on product style, type, flaw, and other factors.
  • Hang clothing on appropriate size and style of hanger when necessary.
  • Sort items by unique qualities as directed by supervisor.
  • Use approved resources to carefully clean stains or marks on products that may be removable without further damage to the product.
  • Count items to verify correct inventory allocations.
  • Review products for security tags.
  • Coordinate items as needed to ensure a complete product (ex. Suits with multiple pieces, dresses with belts, etc.).
  • Monitor product for tags. Attach a BHFO tag to items without tags.
  • Maintain the integrity of the BOL and manifest by keeping items in their shipment category.
  • Repackage and fold items as directed by supervisor.
  • Use a handheld steamer to remove wrinkles from garments, thus improving their presentation.
  • Use a handheld scanner to scan items and update quantities or move forward for further processing.
  • Use a portable label printer to print item barcodes and affix to the proper products.
  • Work efficiently and accurately to achieve daily production goals set by the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and well stocked work area to promote efficiency and decrease risk of product damage.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Ability to work quickly to achieve daily productivity goals.
  • Ability to count and do simple subtraction and addition of single or double digit numbers.
  • Ability to make independent decisions on categorization when sorting product.
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours at a time or duration of shift, ability to twist, bend, and lift consistently.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects various distances throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • The ability to speak clearly so others can understand
  • Fine motor skills including reach, grasp, pinch, and touch.

Hours:

  • Monday – Friday
  • 7am – 3:30pm

Pay:

  • $16/hour
