Job Title: HVAC Service Technician

Job Summary: The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring systems are operating efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Install new HVAC systems, including heaters, air conditioners, and ventilation systems, according to manufacturer specifications and local codes.
  • Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. This includes cleaning components, checking refrigerant levels, and inspecting electrical connections.
  • Repair: Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems and components. This includes diagnosing issues, replacing defective parts, and ensuring repairs are completed to industry standards.
  • Inspection: Conduct inspections of HVAC systems to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by explaining issues, recommending solutions, and answering questions. Maintain a professional demeanor and clear communication with clients.
  • Documentation: Complete and maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on each job. Prepare and submit reports as required.
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Inventory Management: Manage and maintain an inventory of tools and parts necessary for performing HVAC services.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in HVAC systems preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience as an HVAC technician or in a related field is preferred. On-the-job training may be provided.
  • Certifications: Relevant HVAC certification (e.g., EPA Section 608, NATE) is often required or preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and components.
    • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
    • Proficiency in using HVAC tools and equipment.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Working Conditions:

  • The job may require working in various environments, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
