Salary: $22-$28/hr. (DOE)

Job Title: Sous Chef

Schedule: Monday – Thursday (10:45am – 7:15pm) & Sunday (5:00am – 1:30pm). Shifts will include weekends and holidays as needed (meals provided)

Description/Requirements:

The Cook will be performing a variety of kitchen and food service duties involving food preparation for agency residents, guests and patients: Prepares salads & dressings, desserts and sauces. Assists Head Cook with vegetable production. Assists Chef with special catering events. Maintains high standards of safety and sanitation. May perform miscellaneous food service tasks such as delivering trays, assisting in the serving of food and similar tasks.

Rate of pay – $22-$28 

  • Experience in commercial kitchen. Knowledge of heavy-duty kitchen equipment and food preparation and cleaning. Ability to read and follow recipes, and to organize and maintain work and storage areas. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing sufficient to perform the tasks required.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations. Must meet health assessment required by the CA Department of Public Health as well as TB testing and fingerprint clearances required by California DSS/CCL.
