Maintenance Mechanic

 

Large manufacturing operation seeking a new Maintenance Mechanic for our 1st shift to assist in keeping the mechanical equipment and structure of the plant in repair.

 

The 1st shift hours are 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, overtime available

 

Tasks and duties for the Maintenance Mechanic position include:

• Performance of operations and the use of tools and equipment of several trades such as, but not limited to: electrical, plumbing, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments to insure efficient operation
• Responsible for planning and layout of work relating to repair of the building and all equipment
• Installing and aligning new equipment
• Responsible for moving hazardous waste drums from still room to the hazardous waste storage area
• Knowledge of the proper disposal of waste oil and soiled rags
• License Requirements
• System Operation & Maintenance
• Industrial Waste Neutralizing System
• Haz-Waste Accumulation Containers/Waste Minimization
• Emergency Response
• Hazardous Communication / Right to Know
• General Housekeeping

Qualification for the Maintenance Mechanic position include:

• Able to read and write to complete and log all maintenance request and repairs
• Able to demonstrate a proficiency in simple mechanical tasks
• Basic mathematical skills
• Able to operate a forklift and have a forklift license
• Be capable of lifting up to fifty pounds regularly
• Capable of bending, turning, stooping and twisting
