Medical Assistant

Located in Pontiac, MI

Salary: $18 - $18.50 per hour

The Company:

We have partnered with a local organization who is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) which primarily services low-income patients.  

Summary:

We are looking for a Medical Assistant. High school diploma or equivalent is required. 3 + months in a similar clinical position is required. Experience working in a healthcare environment. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required. Must maintain BLS Certification and update Flu Vaccination yearly.

Responsibilities:

• Provides direct and indirect patient care while assisting clinicians
• Responsibilities include taking patient vital signs, spirometry readings, conducting EKG tests, administering injections and immunizations, drawing blood, collecting lab samples, and other procedures. Renders basic first aid or CPR when necessary.
• Monitoring various clinical processes: Patient Centered Care, Clinic, and Office Operations.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and strictly follows privacy regulations.
• Take patient vitals, Record data, and ability to read large amounts of data and small print.
• Places patients in examination rooms according to the established workflow protocol of the healthcare facility
• Cleans the exam room immediately after a patient visit and ensures that the exam room is set up for the next patient visit.
• Aids in collecting data for audits, both for internal and external purposes.
• Orders and maintains the clinical areas with sufficient supplies and that patient rooms are stocked accordingly.
• Excels in a fast-paced clinic environment, adapting to the ever-changing patient needs.
• Clear communication and attention to detail with prompt follow-ups.
• Carries out assigned tasks on committees, work groups, and other relevant teams
• Strong computer skills utilizing EHR and Microsoft Office, NextGen a plus
• Must maintain BLS Certification and update Flu Vaccination yearly
• Local travel between sites in Pontiac & Southfield MI- requiring walking and carrying items
• Must have the ability to lift 20+ pounds routinely
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required

Monday - Friday 08:00 AM – 5:00 PM
