Express Employment Professionals is now partnered with a manufacturing company in the Edinburg area to hire a Purchasing Agent. The person in this role will be reporting to the Purchasing Manager.  

 

Job Description:

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for acquiring raw materials and managing supplier relationships to support manufacturing operations. This role involves negotiating pricing, tracking orders, and ensuring timely delivery. The agent will also analyze inventory needs, develop new suppliers, and collaborate with internal teams to meet production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure and manage raw materials and supplies.
  • Create, process, and monitor purchase orders from start to finish.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and ensure timely delivery.
  • Analyze supply and demand to manage inventory levels.
  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers, and monitor performance.
  • Oversee non-inventoried items and high-cost material procurement.
  • Coordinate with planning, customer service, and operations teams.

Experience:

  • Experience in purchase order management and supplier negotiation.
  • Skilled in analyzing inventory and managing high-cost materials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and suppliers.
  • Detail-oriented with intermediate Excel skills; basic Word and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Navision 2016, Business Central, and Smartsheet is a plus.
  • Knowledge of silo, railcar, and bulk truck management is advantageous.

Schedule and Location:

  • Full-time, first shift, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
  • On-site position.

Salary: $55k to $70k, commensurate with experience
