About the Role:

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team. In this role, you will manage our client base, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, and overseeing the work of staff accountants. Your responsibilities will include reviewing compilations, review engagements, and tax returns, as well as managing client relationships and directing workflow to meet deadlines. You will also mentor and support the professional development of our staff.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage client financial evaluations and ensure data accuracy.
  • Review and oversee staff accountants’ work, including compilations, review engagements, and tax returns.
  • Analyze and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
  • Manage client relationships and workflow to meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to process improvements and assist with tax planning and preparation.
  • Liaise with financial institutions and government agencies on behalf of clients.

 

Qualifications:

  • CPA designation with a minimum of 3 years post-designation experience in a public practice firm.
  • Extensive knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE) is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian income tax.
  • Experience in a client-facing role.
  • Proficiency with CaseWare, Taxprep, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience in a multi-faceted role with varying tasks and responsibilities.
