Job Description:

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced 18-Wheeler Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of 18-wheelers and other heavy-duty vehicles. This is a critical role that ensures the safe and efficient operation of our trucks, keeping our fleet running smoothly and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on 18-wheelers.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
• Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brake systems, steering components, and other mechanical parts.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with all DOT regulations.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure vehicle longevity and reliability.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and make necessary repairs.
• Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
• Work closely with the operations team to schedule maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent experience.
• Experience working as a mechanic on 18-wheelers or other heavy-duty vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, and other truck components.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts.
