Maintenance Worker - Food Facility 

Day: 5AM-5PM  or  Night: 5PM-5AM

Shift 1 – Sunday – e/o Wednesday Day Shift

Shift 2 - Sunday – e/o Wednesday Night Shift

Shift 3 - e/o Wednesday – Saturday Day Shift

Shift 4 - e/o Wednesday – Saturday Night Shift

Wage: $20.63 (night shift differential $2.50)

 

Position Overview

The Maintenance Worker position is responsible for ensuring the operation of our facilities. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude towards maintenance tasks. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment for our staff and clients.

 Responsibilities

·         Food Safety – Preventative Maintenance Program

·         Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and general carpentry work.

·         Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify any issues or potential hazards.

·         Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and address any concerns in a timely manner.

·         Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections.

·         Assist in the implementation of preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and prolong the lifespan of assets.

·         Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas and storage spaces.

·         Collaborate with other team members and contractors to complete larger maintenance projects.

·         Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.

·         Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions.

·         Perform landscaping and outdoor maintenance tasks as needed.

·         Train alongside Maintenance Technicians and assist them with daily tasks.

 Requirements  

·         Food Safety – Aware of empowerment to act to resolve Food Safety Issues within the scope of work.

·         Food Safety – Conform to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).

·         Reliable form of transportation.

·         Proven experience as a Maintenance Worker or similar role, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.

·         Proficiency in basic maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and HVAC systems.

·         Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

·         Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to maintenance work.

Physical Requirements

·         Frequently required to talk, hear and communicate with others in English.

·         Frequent sitting, walking, bending, and squatting. (up to 13 hours)

·         Ability to sit and perform work on a computer or at a desk.

·         Able to continually bend, stoop, twist, use arms, wrists, and hands (including grasping and squeezing) throughout shift.

·         Able to occasionally kneel, reach above the shoulder, work at heights, and climb steps.

·         Use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

·         Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

·         Able to maneuver full drums of chemicals using a dolly/forklift for assistance.
