Mon-Thursday 7 AM-3:30 PM; Fridays 6 am – 2:30 pm

 

Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing and recruiting firm, is currently hiring for a CNC Plasma/Oxyfuel Machine Operator for a client in Slaughter, La. Key functions of your role will be to manufacture burned parts following pre-programmed schematics and dimensions, with a strong focus on quality and keeping the level of work consistent.  Experience with nesting in OmniWin software is highly preferable.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up plasma and oxyfuel burning table and select materials that are required for each work order.
• Independently operate CNC machines following the guidelines of our production programmer.
• Efficiently nest work orders for maximum production.
• Manage all plate inventory, concerning job charging materials and maintaining accurate inventory counts.
• Monitor the cutting process, inspect finished pieces for quality, and adjust as necessary to maintain precision and adherence to specifications.
• Inspect the machine while in operation to verify the machine is running properly, to identify problems that may cause injury to personnel, damage to machinery, or reductions in the quality of the finished product.
• Always ensure quality production in addition to proper operation of equipment.
• Maintain traceability on all jobs.
• Mark materials and package parts
• Ensure quality and quantity standards are met on a daily/consistent basis.
• Keep the work area clean and always organized.
• Perform all daily/weekly/monthly maintenance on equipment.
• Always comply with safety protocol
• Comply with policies always related to quality of work.
• Be open-minded and willing to perform other duties as assigned.
• Have a good attitude, and work ethic, and contribute to positive shop morale.

 

EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating CNC burn tables.
• Basic math skills
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as dial calipers, O.D and I.D. micrometers, bore gauges.
