A cook assistant is responsible for assisting the head chef in preparing and cooking meals in a professional kitchen setting. Duties may include chopping and dicing ingredients, preparing sauces and dressings, marinating meats, and helping to plate and garnish dishes. Cook assistants may also be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work areas, washing dishes, and restocking supplies. They must be able to follow recipes accurately and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, cook assistants may be required to assist with inventory management, food storage, and other kitchen tasks as needed.
