Works with journeyman level mechanics to learn all aspects of trailer repairs in a for-hire shop
•
Reads and comprehends work orders with guidance from shop manager
•
Plans work procedures under guidance of experienced mechanics
•
Will learn the basics of the following:
o
Air systems
o
Electrical systems
o
Braking (ABS) systems for air disc brake and drum brake
o
Suspensions
o
Body work
o
Welding – basic fabrication
•
Will learn all requirements for ODOT trailer inspections & pre-delivery inspections

Our company will provide a semi-trailer technician starter tool set and cart for use on the job. Upon successful completion of 12 months of employment, apprentice can keep the tools.
Experience:
Must be able to demonstrate mechanical aptitude and experience in shop environments.
Strong organizational skills and enthusiasm for collaborative teamwork.
Must be action oriented / detail oriented and able to maintain a high energy level.
Requirements:
Must pass pre-employment and random drug screening and pre-employment physical.
Candidates will complete assessments with 3rd party consultants to ensure the compatibility of personality and work ethic for our company.
Mechanical certifications a plus. It is preferred that candidate provide some hand tools.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Shift: 6:30 – 3:00 Monday – Friday
Wage: $24/hr
