•
Examines equipment and discusses with Service Writer/Service Manager nature and extent of damage or malfunction.
•
Understands air systems, electrical systems, braking (ABS) systems including air disc brakes and drum brakes, suspensions, and body work.
•
Must demonstrate proficiency in the following:
o
Identifying and replacing brake shoes, drums, shocks, air bags, suspension bushings
o
Familiarity with air and spring suspension operations and capacity to troubleshoot and repair any and all issues with semi-trailer suspensions
o
Familiarity with Lite-Check and/or ACOM ABS diagnostic equipment
o
Repairs to rear doors – swing and roll up, reefer and dry freight
o
Familiarity with all FHWA regulations and necessary repairs to comply with Federal DOT regulations
o
Trailer body work – sheet and post for dry van and reefer trailers, floor work and roof repairs
o
Familiarity with liftgate troubleshooting and repairs
o
Familiarity with lighting systems and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
•
Designs and fabricates solution for structural repairs or modification to trailers
•
Understanding of allowable times for repairs and accounting for/documenting actions during repair process.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of Semi-trailer repair experience required; or equivalent in education and experience.
Requirements:
Must have welding experience and hand tools. Trailer related certifications a plus
Must have strong organizational, teamwork and customer service skills
Must pass pre-employment and random drug screening and pre-employment physical.
Candidates will complete assessments with 3rd party consultants to ensure the compatibility of personality and work ethic for our company.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Shift: Monday – Friday 6:30 – 3:00
Reports to: Service Manager
Pay range: $29/hr
