Manufacturing Customer Service Representative Job Summary: A locally owned and industry leading manufacturer in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Manufacturing Customer Service Representative  to join its team. In this role, you will work closely with both internal and external customers, utilizing critical thinking and a service-oriented mindset to solve problems and resolve complaints in a beneficial way. Manufacturing Customer Service Representative Requirements:

• Confer with customers via phone and email to provide information about products and services, take orders, and/or obtain details of complaints.
• Assists with cross-functional teams to support new and existing customers, working together to resolve issues and supply innovative solutions to problems.
• Navigates international shipping and customs while adhering to customer requirements.
• Represents the company in a professional manner, while also always upholding company values.
• Process orders in an accurate manner, working from customer purchase orders including order entry, making changes, and printing labels/packets.
• Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.
• Resolve customers'' service or billing complaints by working with other team members.
• Checks to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers'' problems.
• Contact customers to respond to inquiries or to notify them of claim investigation results and any planned adjustments.
• As necessary, works to accurately set-up new items in company’s ERP system.
• Refer unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation. Provides notification and description of issues to necessary team members.
• Obtain and examine all relevant information to assess the validity of complaints and to determine both possible causes and solutions.
• Assists in performing reception duties including answering phones, opening and distributing mail, and scheduling conference rooms when necessary.
• Works to identify/obtain cost saving opportunities whenever possible, tracking verified saving for team metrics.

 

Schedule & Pay:

 

• 7:30am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
• Based on experience and qualifications

 

Manufacturing Customer Service Representative Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• 2+ years of manufacturing customer service experience desired
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (ex., Word, Excel, Outlook) and SyteLine or related MRP/ERP systems  
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams both internally and externally
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments concurrently, prioritizing workload effectively to meet deadlines and deliverables.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision, while also thriving in a team-oriented environment.
• Accuracy and attention to detail, with sound judgment and problem-solving skills
• Regular and predictable attendance
