Layout/Fitter

Located in Mars, PA

Salary: $22.00-$28.00/hr.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling and fitting steel components according to specifications. This role requires a high degree of precision, attention to detail, and the ability to follow blueprints and technical drawings.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Measure and mark materials for cutting and shaping using various tools and equipment.
• Fit and assemble steel components using various fastening methods.
• Inspect and verify completed assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

 

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in metal fabrication or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a fitter in an industrial steel fabrication environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Skilled in using various tools and equipment for measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling steel components.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical condition and ability to stand for long periods.
