Job Title: Pest Control Technician

Location: Olivehurst, Ca

Position Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 DOE 

Schedule:

• Normal hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• During hotter days: 5:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Job Summary: The Pest Control Technician is responsible for overseeing and executing pest control activities throughout the entire facility, including the fumigation of walnuts. This role requires coordination with licensed pest control operators (P.C.O) and close collaboration with plant employees, supervisors, and the Director of Plant Operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate all pest control activities with licensed pest control operators.
• Monitor pheromone traps, tin cats, and bait stations to detect pest activity.
• Document findings and record corrective actions taken.
• Conduct spraying of cracks and crevices throughout the facility.
• Perform fogging inside the plant using pyrethrum.
• Notify the P.C.O or supervisor when pest control supplies are needed.
• Work closely with all plant employees, pest control operators, supervisors, and the Director of Plant Operations.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in pest control or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of pest control methods and chemicals.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings accurately.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as spraying, fogging, and monitoring traps.
• Flexibility to adjust working hours during hotter days (5:00 AM - 1:00 PM) and normal schedule (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM).

Skills:

• Effective communication skills for coordinating with P.C.O, supervisors, and other plant employees.
• Ability to identify and resolve pest control issues.
• Basic understanding of safety protocols related to pest control.

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to pest control chemicals and equipment.
• Work in various environments within the facility, including potentially confined spaces and high areas.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, especially during hotter days.
